How do I use it? -- That depends on what you want to do: Rip or Burn. But first you need MetaCard or Revolution. mcRipper is not an application, but a stack, and will only operate within the MetaCard or Revolution environments. Note that you do not need a licensed copy of MetaCard or Revolution to Rip a stack, but you will need a licensed copy if you want to Burn a stack with scripts longer than the Starter Kit will allow (currently 10 lines) Ripping a stack - Open mcRipper
- Open the stack you want to rip
- Enter the name (not the file name, but the stack name) in the Stack Name field. If the field is left blank, mcRipper will prompt you to choose a stack.
- Click the Rip button
- mcRipper will display the output in the Stack Description field and beep when it finishes. This is normally very quick. If it appears stuck, it likely is.
- Click the Save button to save the XML to a file.
- You can also copy the text out of mcRipper.
Note that stacks with numerous cards or objects can result in quite large XML files. Trying to copy all that text out of mcRipper might cause problems. Some XML editors will have a problem with files so large. What you can do with the XML file Burning a stack - Open mcRipper
- Click the Open button to choose an XML file. The file will appear in the Stack Description field. You can also paste the XML into the Stack Description field
- Click the Burn button
- Sit back while your stack is created. This is normally very quick. If it appears stuck, it likely is.
- When it's done, save the resulting stack.
