Screenshots

This section is aimed more at people who are more visually oriented —
if you like to read all the facts about something, be sure to check out the details.

C.D. Caterpillar is designed to be approachable by any level of reader, so the screens are simple and clear. Each has a single purpose, and each is explained both in text and by speech. Below are screenshots that show most of the program's functions.

Simple by Design

C.D. Caterpillar's focus is to teach reading simply. Almost any level of reader can use it, because all the instructions are spoken aloud. Hold the mouse over something, and C.D. will describe what it is, what it does, and how to use it. The graphics are simple, because no one ever learned to read by watching a fancy animation.

High Word Count

The average adult knows about 10,000 words. A single version of C.D. Caterpillar contains over 30,000 words of content, with a 3,000 word vocabulary. Each new release of C.D. Caterpillar has all new content, adding to the vocabulary.

Yes, It's That Simple

If the student needs help with a word, a simple click on the word causes C.D. Caterpillar to pronounce the word, in a professionally recorded human voice. Which word, you ask? Any word. Anywhere. Even the page numbers.

Great Stories

C.D. Caterpillar is fun because it helps students learn to read using great stories like The Wizard of Oz, and The Princess and the Goblin. Each new release of C.D. Caterpillar has all-new content.

Beginner's Stories, Too

C.D. Caterpillar has a wide range of reading material, from full novels, to beginner's stories with just a few hundred words and a hundred word vocabulary.

Focused Games

C.D. Caterpillar tracks the words the student clicks on for help, and reinforces just those words with highly focused games.
